The short version – we’ve decided to push this year’s Latitude59 back for three weeks and it will now be taking place on 17 – 18 June, both in Tallinn as well as online. All current ticket holders will be contacted this week, everyone else – we look forward to seeing you in June instead of May.
The slightly longer version. This year’s Latitude59 will be our 10th although our history as a startup conference dates back to 2008. As we’re busy planning the celebrations as well as another successful hybrid event, the health and safety of our guests here in Tallinn remains our main priority. Although the one thing we’ve learnt over the past year is that nothing is ever certain, we felt that we can offer all our guests a safer environment in June and we also remain hopeful that international travel will be easier and safer in June.
To be honest, this does feel like Groundhog Day as exactly a year ago we were forced to postpone our 2020 event due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well. But we’ll take this experience with us to put on an even better hybrid event for you.
White nights edition
This wouldn’t be the first time Latitude59 has taken place in June. Our first ever gathering under that name took place in the first week of June, back in 2012. And what’s more – it will be the season of white nights in Estonia when it hardly ever gets dark so make sure to pack your sleep mask in addition to your face mask.
Other than that you can still expect all the best parts of Latitude59 – matchmaking and networking, demos and pitches, inspiring mentor sessions and stage content and furthermore – seeing your extended startup family again, be it online or in-person in Kultuurikatel in Tallinn. Despite the global pandemic, the Estonian startup sector remained resilient and delivered another very successful year. Read more about the results in Startup Estonia’s blog post so expect lots of stories and lessons learnt to be shared.
Over the next few weeks, we will be announcing more details about the content and matchmaking and pitching opportunities while we continue preparing for the best hybrid Latitude59 experience.
Please stay safe – the Latitude59 family and I look forward to seeing all of you in June. Be it online or in person in Tallinn.
