The World Summit Awards (WSA) is a global initiative recognising startups that use digital innovation to benefit their communities. Its network spans 182 United Nations member states, and each year 40 national winners compete across 8 categories at the WSA Global Congress.
Winning a World Summit Award puts your startup in front of a global audience – offering visibility, recognition and connections from almost every country in the world across a four-day international congress. Ready to compete? Explore the categories below and submit before October 15, 2026.
The World Summit Awards is a non-monetary award system built around sustainable knowledge transfer through a worldwide network. Winners gain a lifelong partnership network of startup leaders from all around the world.
WSA is looking for startups whose digital solutions make a strong impact on their communities. Entries compete in one of 8 categories inspired by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, with the focus firmly on the local impact of your product.
World Summit Awards is a nomination based award system with multiple qualification rounds, bringing together all UN member states from around the world. Each country is represented by a WSA National Expert, who oversees nominations at the local level. Estonia’s National Expert is currently Liisi Org, the CEO of Latitude59.
All candidates need to fill the application form, providing a brief overview of your solution under the category that fits it best, and including UN SDG goals you are contributing to with your solution. Upon deadline, all national-level applications will be reviewed by the local expert as each country is eligible to nominate one solution per WSA category per year.The final nominees will be presented to the international jury to run for the global World Summit Awards.

If chosen as the winner of the Estonian National Contest, your solution will continue on to the Jury phase.
During this stage, the nominees will be evaluated by an international WSA jury.
The winners of this round will be announced in January 2027.
The winners of each category will be invited to the WSA Global Congress, and the Global Champions will be announced.
