Latitude59 Invites Estonian Startups to Nominate Themselves for the World Summit Awards

Latitude59, Estonia’s frontier tech conference & community announced the call for nominations for the 2024 World Summit Awards (WSA), inviting innovative Estonian startups to participate. The WSA is an international award recognizing digital solutions that positively impact local communities, aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

WSA and Latitude59’s new collaboration aims to showcase Estonia’s digital impact to the world.

Latitude59’s CEO and Estonia’s national Expert for WSA, Liisi Org, commented that the goal of Latitude59 is to bring together startup communities from around the world and the collaboration with WSA as an additional opportunity for showcasing more Estonian digital talent globally.

Org emphasized that one of WSA’s missions is to catapult startups onto the international stage and serve as their connection to a global audience. “Latitude59 is dedicated to representing Estonia on the international level, acting as the best global relationship builder for startups and fostering international cooperation and WSA is a great opportunity to introduce the Estonian market and ecosystem in front of a global audience,” said Org.

The WSA is an award system that focuses on sustainable knowledge transfer through a global network. Winning startups benefit from lifelong partnerships with leaders from around the world and gain access to an international community of like-minded entrepreneurs. Previous winners from Estonia include Kõu Mobility Group, Wise, Testlio and Pocopay to name a few.

Each year, 40 national winners from across the globe compete in 8 categories at the WSA Global Congress, offering a unique platform for startups to showcase their impact and innovation on a global stage. The 8 categories are Government & Citizen Engagement, Health & Wellbeing, Learning & Education, Environment & Green Energy, Culture & Heritage, Smart Settlements & Urbanization, Business & Commerce, Inclusion & Empowerment.

To be nominated, a startup must allocate itself to one of the 8 categories and describe the impact their digital solution has had to a specific local community.
