How does it work

World Summit Awards is a nomination based award system with multiple qualification rounds, bringing together all UN member states from around the world, while showcasing humanities most impactful startups and digital solutions! Each country is represented by a WSA National Expert, who is responsible for overseeing the nominations on a local level. Estonia’s National Expert is currently Liisi Org, the CEO of Latitude59.

To run for the World Summit Awards, all candidates need to fill the application form, providing a brief overview of your solution, which category you’d like to apply under, and which UN SDG goals you are contributing towards with your solution (you might want to check out the submission guide, if you have questions). Upon deadline, all national-level applications will be reviewed by the local expert as each country is eligible to nominate one project/solution per WSA category per year

The final nominees will be presented to the international jury to run for the global World Summit Awards, taking place in India in April 2025.

  • Are market-ready or already launched on the market – no ideas or concepts are eligible

Who will win & what happens next?

If chosen as the winner of the Estonian National Contest, your solution will continue on to the Jury phase.

During this stage, the nominees will be evaluated by an international WSA jury.

The winners of this round will be announced in January 2025.

The Global Congress will take place on April 6 to 9, 2025 in India.

The winners of each category will be invited to the WSA Global Congress in Hyderabad, India, and the Global Champions will be announced.

Words of encouragement

Liisi Org, National Expert for Estonia & CEO of Latitude59

“There are countless problems to solve, and many solutions today come through technology. At Latitude59, we focus on the societal impact of startups and tech—how they can truly improve the world.

This impact differs globally; what works for us might not fit elsewhere. That’s why global idea exchange is crucial, and WSA is a great platform for it.”
