Two official side events to Latitude59xKenya, bringing together the people who build startup ecosystems in Zambia and Uganda.
Lusaka, Zambia · 5 November 2026 | Kampala, Uganda · 9 November 2026
In Lusaka and Kampala, Latitude59 and ESTDEV are hosting one-day events for local ecosystem builders. During the day, participants join a hands-on workshop to learn how Estonia built one of Europe’s leading startup ecosystems and to pitch solutions to challenges facing their own ecosystem. The day ends with a relaxed networking mixer open to the wider community.
The strongest ideas will be selected to present at Latitude59 Kenya in Nairobi this December.
Welcome and expert talk: An introduction to the Estonian startup ecosystem and the key challenges facing ecosystems in the region.
Idea Hackathon: Facilitated roundtables built around real problems mapped ahead of the event. Participants propose solutions, form local teams and develop an action plan. Each team presents its idea at the end of the session.
Joining the Ambassadors Network: How the regional network works, and how to stay connected after the event.
Networking night: A relaxed evening meetup open to the wider startup community.
The Idea Hackathon is for representatives of ecosystem support organisations: innovation hubs, incubators, accelerators, university entrepreneurship centres and startup umbrella organisations. We also welcome startups, investors and public sector representatives who want to shape how their ecosystem works.
The networking night is open to anyone in the local startup and innovation community.
We especially encourage women leaders in the ecosystem to apply.
