Press Release
October 24, 2025
Latitude59, the leading startup and technology event in Estonia and the Baltics, is broadening its global footprint with four satellite events taking place this year in Singapore, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Nairobi. Latitude59 is also exploring future expansion opportunities in South America and Canada.
Latitude59 CEO Liisi Org noted that the event’s ability to connect startup ecosystems around the world has attracted attention across continents, and the format developed in Estonia is now in high demand internationally. “Over the past decade, Latitude59 in Tallinn has gained global recognition. We are seen both as a connector of startup communities and as a platform that fosters meaningful partnerships and sparks ideas capable of changing the world. This has opened doors for us on other continents as well,” said Org.
Two years ago, Latitude59 successfully hosted its first international event in Nairobi, Kenya, followed by an expansion to Singapore last year. This year, the Latitude59 program will grow further with two additional events in South Africa.
Latitude59 Kenya Edition 2025, returning for the third time in Nairobi, will expand this year into a three-day event expected to attract around 3,000 participants. As in previous years, the event will also feature a pitch competition open to teams from around the world, with the winner invited to present on the main Latitude59 stage in Tallinn. The event will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 3 to 5 December.
In October, Latitude59 will host its Singapore side event for the second consecutive year, focusing on connecting major global investors and leading Asian corporations with deep-tech startups from the New Nordics. The initiative will be further strengthened by the first-ever New Nordic delegation of more than 50 members, bringing together startups, investors, and ecosystem representatives from Estonia, Sweden, and Finland. Estonia will be represented by Startup Estonia, the Estonian Private and Venture Capital Association (EstVCA), Invest Estonia, and Cleantech Estonia. The Swedish delegation will be represented by SISP – Swedish Incubators & Science Parks, and Business Finland will represent the Finnish side.
Latitude59 Singapore: Exploring New Nordics will be held in cooperation with the Estonian Embassy in Singapore on 29 October, as an official side event of Asia’s leading technology conference, SWITCH.
From Asia, Latitude59 will head to South Africa in November, where it will host two events for the first time. On 12 November in Cape Town, Estonian and South African founders will meet with international investors and potential clients, followed by Latitude59 Johannesburg on 14 November.
Org noted that adding South Africa to the Latitude59 program has been part of the plan for some time. “South Africa is one of the continent’s most advanced markets and an important innovation hub with a strong investor community. Our goal is to help Estonian startups and technology companies reach the right partners and clients by serving as a platform that connects Estonia’s experience with South Africa’s potential,” said Org.
Interest in the Latitude59 format has also grown in several South American countries and in Canada. “We are currently in the negotiation phase, and there has been genuine interest for quite some time. For now, our focus is on successfully delivering the announced events — after that, we’ll look further ahead,” said Org.
Latitude59, which took place for the 13th time in Tallinn, Estonia, was visited by more than 4,000 people, including more than 900 startup representatives and 20 national delegations. Nearly 700 investors participated this year, the size of their managed portfolios totalling at least 30 billion euros. 170 speakers could be seen on Latitude59’s stages. In total, there were participants from more than 70 different countries worldwide.
