L59 Pitch Competition in Kenya 2025 FAQ

Main criteria

We invite African companies to apply to the L59 Kenya Pitch Competition, especially startups from East Africa. Companies who are not registered in Africa but whose primary market or focus area is Africa are also welcome to apply.

However, it is important to note that Latitude59 stands with Ukraine, which is why startups with strong connections to Russia, Belarus, and North Korea will not be included in the evaluation process.

  • Eligible startups are invited to apply by October 25, 2025.
After the deadline, all applications will be sorted into broad categories (internally).
  • The TOP 10 teams will be selected by an expert panel of business angels, VC representatives, startup executives, business mentors, and other industry experts. Each application will be reviewed by at least two independent evaluators in the first round, followed by careful consideration from the core evaluation team.
  • The TOP 10 teams will also receive in-person pitch training from our pitching coach, Gleb Maltsev, in Nairobi on December 3.
  • Finally, the TOP 10 startups will pitch on the Latitude59 Kenya main stage on December 5, 2025, where the winners will be announced.

Showcase your startup at the Demo Area

The two-day spotlight at our Demo Area allows you to get EXACTLY what you need – show your product to investors and customers, gain immediate feedback, conduct first-hand market research, receive media coverage. A limited number of startup booths are now available for €250

The main program of Latitude59 Kenya 2025 will take place on December 4-5 at A.S.K Dome, the Kenya’s leading events & exhibitions venue. View in Google Maps.

We recognized that transportation was challenging for some attendees last year, and we’ve taken significant steps to make getting to A.S.K Dome smooth and stress-free this time around:

  • We’re excited to offer a dedicated transport solution for all attendees! E-Moti will be running electric shuttle buses between The Junction Mall and the A.S.K. Dome before the start of the event. Pick-up and drop-off point will be at The Junction Mall, clearly marked and supported by marshalls in reflector jackets. Shuttles will run every 20 minutes from 8:30 AM – 10:10 AM. Specific route details and timetables will be published on our social media channels.
  • For door-to-door convenience, we recommend using a ride-sharing service (like a taxi) or a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi), especially if you are traveling during off-peak hours. These options offer the most flexibility.
  • Please plan your journey carefully, as Nairobi’s morning rush hour (typically 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM) can significantly affect travel time, regardless of whether you are driving, taking a taxi, or using the shuttle service. We strongly advise adding at least 30 to 45 minutes of buffer time to your expected transit time if you plan to arrive during the rush hour window.
  • A detailed map showing the main gate, parking lots, drop-off points, and the Ngong Road shuttle stop will be released on our website and social media platforms couple of days prior to the event.

The designated parking spaces available at the A.S.K Dome venue for attendees who wish to drive. Follow the on-site signage and directions from our marshals upon arrival.

Taxis and boda-bodas have designated drop-off and pick-up zones right near the main entrance for maximum convenience.

Have you registered your ticket yet?

If not, just open your inbox, find the confirmation email from Fienta (our ticketing partner), and click the link to register your ticket.

After that, you’ll get an invitation to sign in to the Latitude59 App by Brella (our official conference app). There, you can start networking and explore the list of attendees — from investors and startups to ecosystem builders worldwide.

Registering your ticket also helps our team send you updates and invitations tailored to your ticket type. And when you arrive, the QR code on your registered ticket is all you need to quickly claim your conference badge. Find the QR code on the Latitude59 App.

Please register your ticket first — you’ll need the QR code from your confirmation email to collect your badge on December 4 at A.S.K. Dome. We also advise you to take a screenshot of your ticket in case there is no internet connection at the venue. Come early to avoid the queues.

The main program of Latitude59 Kenya 2025 will take place on December 4–5 at the A.S.K Dome. All sessions will happen across the main stage, pitching stage, and three masterclass rooms. Get ready for two days of hands-on programming:

Day 1: Listen & Learn
We’re keeping the classic stage format with curated tracks. Hear the wisdom, scars, and victories of African founders and community builders making waves both locally and globally.

Day 2: Engage & Create
We flip the script—the venue becomes a vibrant space for dialogue, feedback, and connection. Picture roundtables, masterclasses, and an open stage. It’s practical, interactive, and designed for rolling up your sleeves. You’ll walk away with new skills and fresh perspectives.

Travelling from overseas to get to Latitude59?
We’ve compiled some travel information to help make your journey easier!

Find the best hotel deals for Latitude59 visitors from here

To ensure that your trip is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, there are a few essentials that we strongly recommend including in your travel kit.

  • Personal medications
  • Medicines for stomach ailments
  • Insect repellent – optional.

Vaccines. There are no mandatory vaccinations required for travel to Kenya. However, the country is in an endemic yellow fever area, so it is recommended to get vaccinated as early as possible (ideally at least 4 weeks before the trip; the vaccine provides lifelong protection).

Water drinking. Rule No. 1: Do not drink tap water. The hotels provide safe, bottled drinking water. Additionally, many restaurants outside offer filtered water (if you don’t want to buy it). However, we recommend sticking to your own bottled water.

For payments in Kenya, Revolut should work smoothly. For instances where cash is necessary, such as in markets or for smaller purchases, withdrawing from ATMs is straightforward. However, it’s worth noting that aside from these specific situations, there is little need for cash.

Kenya uses type G (used in the UK) power socket; therefore, you will need a power plug adapter for this type of outlet. Also pack a power bank in case there might be electricity interruptions or for the trips outside the hotel.

Safaricom is the leading provider of SIM cards in the country. While there are other providers available, their performance may not be as consistent. You have the option of purchasing a SIM card upon arrival at the airport (you might need to pay in cash).

Additionally, e-SIM options are available (Airalo, Saily etc.) – both work perfectly well and give you access to internet upon your arrival without any additional fuss.
