Press Release
Decemeber 5, 2025
Nairobi, Kenya – Latitude59 Kenya 2025 made history this week by closing the event with its first-ever syndicated Nairobi Business Angel Network investment, awarded live on stage to this year’s Pitch Competition winner. The third edition of the event brought together 2,500 founders, investors and ecosystem leaders from 50 countries – confirming Latitude59 as a global village where relationships turn into real capital and ideas grow beyond borders.
This year’s event focused on accelerating Africa’s next wave of innovation through Digital and Green Innovation. The program was designed to connect African founders with global capital, expertise, and networks while enabling policymakers, investors, and corporate leaders to co-create solutions for sustainable, inclusive, and human-centred digital transformation.
The highlight of every Latitude59 event is the pitching competition for early-stage startups. This year’s L59 Pitch Competition in Kenya attracted a total of 222 applications from 27 countries and the stage was won by Mediakits.io, which is building a simple and easy to use platform for influencers to create a custom media kit online with real-time data and analytics. Mediakits.io will get a round-trip to Latitude59 event in Tallinn 2026, a booth at the conference and a fast track to Estonia’s Pitch Competition Pre-finals.
“This year’s competition was truly special – for the first time in Latitude59 Kenya’s history, a syndicated Nairobi Business Angel Network 50,000 dollars investment was born on this stage. We’ve worked towards this moment for three years. It proves what Latitude59 is really about – investing in relationships and building a real community,” said Liisi Org, CEO of Latitude59 and member of the jury.
Kaspar Kitsing, the project lead for the third Latitude59 satellite event in Africa, emphasized that Latitude59 Kenya is no longer just an event. “We are here to stay. Our goal is to dig deeper, learn more and continue to build the local ecosystem. This week proved that when our ecosystems meet as equals, the boundaries of what’s possible disappear,” he added.
The founder of Nairobi Business Angel Network (NaiBAN) Nick Vilelle said that the competition was tough and choosing only one team to award with 50,000 dollars investment was really hard. “Seeing these teams on stage confirmed everything we expected and more. The finalists didn’t just pitch, they performed with confidence, courage and real belief in what they’re building. We are really excited to see how PaydHQ is about to join the journey,” he added.
Adoptomedia gifted Vertical Lake with a “Preparation for Commercial Due Diligence (CDD) and fundraising” package. In addition to that, LOOP Pet Food and Acre Insights both won an award from Adoptomedia “Go-to-Market strategy for investors” package.
Beba-Beggie, PaydHQ and ProPath Sports were also awarded by WOJO co-working membership.
The third edition of Latitude59 satellite event in Nairobi brought together 2500 participants, nearly 200 investors and almost 900 startup representatives. In total, there were participants from 50 different countries worldwide.
Latitude59 Kenya 2025 is delivered in cooperation with ESTDEV through its participation in the Digital and Green Innovation (DGI) Programme, part of the European Union’s D4D Hub Twin Transition Team Europe Initiative.
