Viljar Lubi is the Deputy Secretary General for Economic Development at the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications.
Prior to that he was the first residing Estonian ambassador to India, economic counsellor at the Estonian Embassy in Washington, DC, director of the EU and International Cooperation Department at the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications.
He has degrees in Economics from the University of Tartu and Political Science from the University of Tallinn, both in Estonia. He has also complemented his academic credentials at the University of Sussex, UK, and at the Estonian School of Diplomacy.
Viljar takes diplomacy with passion and has recently helped reform business diplomacy. He has also founded the concept of „Accelerate Estonia“ – a programme to be launched at Latitude59, with the aim of turning wicked problems into economic development.
